Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: (Dec. 23) Prague
Check in to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore the “Golden City” on your own. (B)
Day 2: (Dec. 24) Prague
This morning’s sightseeing reveals why Prague is considered one of Europe’s most attractive cities. Visit the 1,000-year-old Hradcany
Castle courtyard, the St. Vitus, and then cross the Charles Bridge to the Old Market Square. The balance of the day is free to wander
through the Christmas markets with their tempting assortment of handicrafts, toys, wood carvings, and ornaments. Mix with the locals at
Wenceslas Square, or enjoy yourself in one of the charming cafés or restaurants. (B)
Day 3: (Dec. 25) Prague - Nuremberg (Embarkation)
This morning, depart Prague after breakfast and drive through the pastoral countryside to Nuremberg, the capital of Franconia. Enjoy a
city tour of historic Nuremberg, followed by a casual lunch and time to visit the world’s largest Christmas Market before boarding your
luxurious river cruise ship. This evening, meet your fellow travelers at the Welcome Cocktail Reception and festive traditional Christmas
Dinner. (B,L, D)
Day 4: (Dec. 26) Bamberg
Enjoy your breakfast as you cruise through the engineering marvel known as the Main-Danube Canal which straddles the Franconian Alps
via 16 locks. Arrive in the town of Bamberg and enjoy a walking tour of this medieval gem, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage
Site in 1993. There is free time before you continue your cruise, now on the Main River. Arrive at the charming town of Schweinfurt, where
you will enjoy an evening walk. (B,L,D)
Day 5: (Dec. 27) Würzburg
Today, arrive in Kitzingen, where you will enjoy a walking tour and a wine tasting in Germany’s oldest wine cellar. You will also tour
Würzburg, the capital of Lower Franconia. “The Pearl of the Romantic Road” is surrounded by sloping hills covered with vineyards.
During your tour, see the major sights including the magnificent Residenz Palace. In the alternative, enjoy an optional tour to Medieval
Rothenburg, a beautiful walled city situated on the Romantic Road. Your walking tour includes entrance to the Christmas Museum. (B,L,D)
Day 6 :(Dec. 28) Wertheim - Miltenberg
Cruise to Wertheim for some free time to explore the town on your own. A motor coach will transfer you to Freudenberg to rejoin the ship.
Cruise during lunch on your way to Miltenberg. In Miltenberg, a guided walking tour will take you through narrow, cobble-stoned streets
lined with gabled, half-timbered houses. Tonight, the ship sails leaving Bavaria, Franconia and the Main River behind. (B,L,D)
Day 7: (Dec. 29) Rhine Castles - Rüdesheim - Koblenz
This morning, you will cruise through the Rhine Gorge, the most beautiful stretch of the river, passing castle after castle, don’t miss the
legendary Lorelei Rock, where sweet songs of local beauties lured enchanted sailors to their doom. This afternoon, arrive in
St. Goarhausen, where you will disembark for the town of Rüdesheim. There, you will board a miniature train to visit Siegfried’s
Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Explore the Drosselgasse, a narrow alley lined with wine taverns and restaurants during your free
time. Rejoin the ship in Koblenz. After dinner, enjoy a walking tour of this 2,000-year-old city, situated at the confluence of the Rhine
and Mosel rivers. (B,L,D)
Day 8: (Dec. 30) Koblenz - Cologne
This morning cruise from Koblenz to Cologne, arriving in the afternoon. After lunch on board enjoy a walking tour of Cologne and visit the
spectacular 13th-century Medieval Gothic cathedral, its twin spires amongst Europe’s tallest. (B,L,D)
Day 9: (Dec. 31) Cologne - Amsterdam, Holland
Enjoy your last morning leisurely cruising to Amsterdam. Arrive in Amsterdam after lunch for a guided canal cruise and city tour, including
a photo stop at the Rembrandt Windmill. Enjoy free time in Amsterdam. This evening, ring in the New Year, as we celebrae together with
a Gala New Year’s Eve dinner onboard ship. (B,L,D)
Day 10: (Jan. 1) Amsterdam
Today enjoy free time exploring the beautiful city of Amsterdam. (B,L,D)
Day 11: (Jan. 2) Amsterdam (Disembarkation)
Bid Farewell to Amsterdam and transfer to the airport for your homebound flight. (B)
