Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Honfleur (Embarkation)

Boarding between 6:00 and 7:00pm. Time to settle comfortably in your cabins before meeting the crew during a welcome cocktail reception. Dinner followed by a free evening. Overnight stop.

Day 2: Honfleur – Caudebec en Caux

Breakfast on board. The morning will be entirely devoted to visiting (optional) the town, its fishing port, picturesque old houses, salt attics, the church of St Catherine (15th – 16th century) which is the biggest wooden church in France. Return to the ship for lunch. Then join the excursion (optional) to the Cote Fleurie (flowered coast) and the towns of Trouville and Deauville before ending the day in style by visiting a Calvados distillery. Return to the ship for dinner, before cruising on, subject to the tides.

Day 3: Caudebec en Caux - Rouen

Breakfast on board followed by a guided tour (optional) to visit among others, the Abbeys Trail and the church of Caudebec-en-Caux which dates back to the 15th century, then on to Jumièges, which boasts one of the most beautiful abbeys in France and the church of St Pierre, one of the finest examples of 10th century Norman architecture. Back to the ship for lunch before sailing on towards Rouen, between steep cliffs at the foot of which nestle quaint little villages.. Arrive in Rouen around 4.00pm. Leave on a guided tour of the town (optional) taking in the cathedral, historic quarters and the old market place where Joan of Arc was burned alive at the stake. Dinner on board.

Day 4: Mantes La Jolie - Conflans Sainte Honorine - Paris

Early morning start and breakfast while sailing before stopping off in Mantes la Jolie. Join the optional excursion to the Chateau of Versailles (closed to the public on Mondays) which is among the most famous and prestigious World heritage sites and without doubt the most handsome and complete achievement of 17th century French art. Return on board in Conflans Sainte Honorine for lunch while cruising on towards Paris, passing the futuristic quarter of la Défense, with its striking architecture combining glass and cement. Dinner on board as we arrive in Paris which is beautifully lit up at night. Overnight stop.

**IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE TOUR TO VERSAILLES**
Over the years, it has become increasingly difficult to book group entrances on a last minute notice. Therefore, from March 2009 on, the cruiseoperator will only offer this tour as a pre-booked tour (not available on board any more), and for a minimum of 35 persons. If we can not offer Versailles (because of a lack of booking),a tour of “Malmaison castle” will be offered instead. Please remember that Versailles is closed on Monday.

Note that the “Malmaison castle” is closed on Tuesday ; a tour of “Auvers-sur-Oise castle” will be offered instead.

Day 5: Paris (Disembarkation)

Breakfast on board before disembarking around 9.00am. End of the cruise.

Advisements:

  • Please check with us regarding availability of English shore excursions.
  • A valid passport is required for travel.
  • Please check visa requirements with your local consulate(s); responsibility for obtaining visas rests with the traveler.
