Detailed Itinerary: Saarbrücken to Strasbourg (ASS)

Day 1: Saarbrücken (Embarkation)

Boarding time is at 1:30 pm. Settling into your cabin. Lunch on board. Departure of the cruise for Bernkastel at 2:00 pm. We will travel through the city of Saarbrücken and continue through the magnificent landscapes of the Saar, also call the “Saarschleife”, made up of numerous successive meanders through a wooded landscape. Presentation of the crew and welcome cocktail. Dinner on board. Sailing at night.

*9:00 am transfer from Strasbourg (to Saarbrucken) is available. (river mooring, rue du Havre)

Day 2: Bernkastel - Cochem

Arrival in Bernkastel around 8:00am. Breakfast on board. Free time in Bernkastel or, in the company of our hostess, a walk to explore this famous wine town, known throughout the world for its superb half-timbered houses, the finely wrought grill on the fountain in the market place, the delicately sculpted weathervanes on the rooftops, an incomparable experience. Back on board around 11:00am and departure of the cruise for Cochem. Lunch on board. As we drift along, you will discover the exceptional landscapes that the picturesque Moselle lays out before you. Dinner during the cruise. Arrival in Cochem around 8:00pm – a small medieval town dominated by its marvellous castle. Overnight stopover.

Day 3: Cochem - Koblenz

Free morning or optional excursion of Cochem.Let’s discover the Old Town with its medieval places and its half-timbered houses, about 2000 years of history make the charm of this small city. Lunch on board, departure of the boat to sail to Koblenz. We will pass numerous small villages, each more picturesque than the last, and a hillside of vineyards that comes right down to the banks of the Moselle. Dinner and free time to explore the town of Koblenz with its past steeped in history.

Day 4: Koblenz - Rudesheim

Departure of the boat after breakfast for Rudesheim. Cruise up the most beautiful section of the Romantic Rhine. Throughout this cruise, you will see numerous castles amid the famous vineyards, and the celebrated Rock of the Lorelei. Lunch. Arrival at Rudesheim. Free time or optional tour, departure in a small train stopping at a wine tasting cellar, followed by a visit to the museum of mechanical music. Dinner on board. Free evening in the famous Drosselgasse known throughout the world for its atmosphere and its numerous restaurants and bands. Departure of the boat around midnight.

Day 5: Mannheim - Heidelberg - Eberbach

Arrive in Mannheim at 8:00am. Breakfast on board. Departure for the excursion of Heidelberg (optional guided tour of the city) and the castle (outside). Meanwhile, the boat will sail to Heidelberg where we will join for lunch. We'll have an afternoon of navigation on the Neckar, before arriving in Eberbach around 6:00pms. Walk free, to discover at your own pace this medieval city. Situated in the natural park "Neckartal-Odenwald" Eberbach was founded in the thirteenth century, it has retained a rich cultural history. Back on board for dinner and evening entertainment.

Day 6: Eberbach - Mannheim

Departure of the boat early in the morning towards Mannheim. Breakfast and lunch on board. Arrive around 1:00pm in Mannheim. After lunch, afternoon at leisure in Mannheim, the economic and cultural center of the so called Rhein-Neckar triangle. Back on board for dinner and gala evening. Night sail towards Strasbourg.

Day 7: Strasbourg (Embarkation)

Breakfast on board. Arrival in Strasbourg around 9:00am. End of our journey.

Detailed Itinerary: Strasbourg to Saarbrücken (STS)

Day 1: Strasbourg (Embarkation)

Boarding between 6.00 and 7.00pm. Settling into your cabin. Welcome cocktail. Dinner on board. Optional tour of Old Strasbourg in a riverboat (depending on availability). Departure of the boat for Mannheim.

Day 2: Mannheim – Heildelberg Eberbach

Arrival of the boat in Mannheim early in the morning. Breakfast on board. Departure for the optional excursion to Heidelberg, one of the oldest university towns in Germany. Meanwhile, the ship will sail towards Heidelberg, where we will return on board for lunch. Departure to Eberbach, where we should arrive around 5.00pm. Time at leisure in this?medieval city founded at the 13th century, and part of the Natural Parc” Neckartal-Odenwald”. Dinner and evening of entertainment.

Day 3: Eberbach – Rudesheim

Departure of the boat early in the morning. Breakfast and lunch on board. Arrival in Rudesheim in the afternoon, optional visit, departure in a little train, stopping at a cellar and wine tasting, followed by a visit to the museum of mechanical music or free time. Dinner on board. Free evening in the famous Drosselgasse, known throughout the world for its atmosphere, its numerous restaurants and its bands.

Day 4: Rudesheim – Cochem

Breakfast on board. Departure of the boat early morning and cruise on the most beautiful section of the romantic Rhine. You will be able to see a number of castles situated in the famous vineyards. We will also pass the famous Rock of the Lorelei. Lunch on board. In Koblenz, we will be sailing up the Mosel. Arrival in Cochem in the afternoon, a picturesque town dominated by its castle in the style of medieval settlements. Optional guided tour of Cochem. Let’s discover the Old Town with its medieval places and its half-timbered houses, about 2000 years of history make the charm of this small city. Dinner on board and free evening.

Day 5: Cochem – Bernkastel – Trier

Breakfast on board. This entire cruise takes place in an exceptional landscape. You will discover a multitude of small villages with their vines and castles. Two-hour stop in Bernkastel, the pearl of the Mosel. Continuation towards Trier. Dinner on board, followed by an evening’s entertainment. Arrival in Trier towards the end of the evening.Overnight stopover.

Day 6: Trier –Saarbrücken

After breakfast, optional guided tour of Trier. Explore this town rich in Roman remains. Return on board for lunch in Saarburg. Lunch on board and departure of the cruise for Saarbrücken, sailing up the Saar through the “Saarschleife” with its magnificent wooded landscapes, traversed by the meanders of the Saar. Gala dinner followed by an evening of dancing. Arrival in Saarbrücken in the evening. Overnight stopover.

Day 7: Saarbrücken (Disembarkation)

Breakfast. Disembarkation at 9:00am.

*1:00 pm transfer from Saarbrücken (to Strasbourg) is available.
