Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1 - Harsova (Bucharest)
Individual arrival in Bucharest. Embarkation on the River Cloud II at 16.00 hours. Passage through St George’s Canal to kilometre zero.
Day 2 - St George
The River Cloud ii reaches the Black Sea today at kilometre zero. There is an opportunity to take a trip ashore to visit the fishing village of St George.
Day 3 - Vilkovo
Boat trip through the Ukrainian Danube delta*. The small town of Vilkovo with its picturesque little houses is an ideal starting point for discovering the unspoiled Danube delta.
Day 4 - Harsova
Overland excursion to Constanta and Mamaia on the Black Sea coast, including lunch*. Constanta is the most important sea port on the Black Sea, whilst its suburb Mamaia is the oldest holiday resort in Romania.
Day 5 - Russe
Excursion to Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi with lunch*. Picturesque Veliko Tarnovo was once the capital of the second Bulgarian Empire. One of the prettiest villages in the country, Arbanassi, is to be found only a few miles away.
Day 6 - Nikopol
Overland trip to Pleven*. Pleven is quite rightly proud of its long and rich cultural life.
Day 7 - Kazan Gorge
The Kazan Gorge is perhaps the most spectacular section of the Danube. The River Cloud ii travels over 100 kilometres (60 miles) through the gorge between the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains. The narrowest point is the Iron Gate.
Day 8 - Belgrade
City tour*. Belgrade’s location at the point where the River Sava flows into the Danube was treasured even 7000 years ago. Many different races and cultures have shaped its history and are now set in stone.
Day 9 - Mohács
Overland excursion to Pécs*. The university city of Pécs has a happy Mediterranean atmosphere mixed with an oriental flair. Its long and multicultural history has left behind many historic relics.
Day 10 - Budapest
09.00 hours disembarkation. Individual departure.
