Day 1 Amsterdam, Netherlands
Individual arrival in Amsterdam. Embarkaion on the River Cloud II at 4:00pm.
Day 2 Amsterdam, Nehterlands &Hoorn,Netherlands
In the morning, a city tour including a visit of the “Amsterdam” sailing
ship, followed by a tea ceremony*.
The “Amsterdam” gives an insight into a time when the Dutch East India
Company dominated trade with Asia. The historic Scheepvaarthuis provides
the perfect setting to listen to stories about great historic sea voyages.
The old seafaring town of Hoorn was the headquarters of the Dutch East
India Company, and gave its name to the notorious Cape Horn in South
America. Take an evening stroll through the port and you will soon feel
like you have been transported back to times gone by.
Day 3 Hoorn, Netherlands & Enkhuizen, Netherlands
City walk*.
Magnificent houses, churches, the weigh house and the historic town hall – everything about Hoorn will remind you of its impressive history, which
goes back to 1602. The River Cloud will then glide across Lake Yssel.
Visit to the Zuiderzee open-air museum*.
Old ships and fishing boats, a small port and a reconstructed village
where sail makers and blacksmiths work – the Zuiderzee open-air museum
will take you back on a journey through time. Meanwhile, Thomas
Kraupe will tell you about the tides, the stars and the sea.
Day 4 Enkhuizen, Stavoren, & Kampen, Netherlands
Tjalk cruise to Stavoren*.
Cruise over Lake Yssel on a historic flat-bottomed sailing boat. You
will be able to find out more about this type of boat, and will even be
given the chance to lend a hand yourself. Or just sit back and enjoy
the view on board the River Cloud, which will accompany the Tjalk
for part of its journey.
Afternoon visit to the Franeker Planetarium or visit to the Skutsje
Museum in Earnewald*.
Here you have a choice of two excursions: the oldest functioning planetarium
built by the wool carder Eise Eisinga, or the Skutsje Museum,
which provides an insight into traditional ship building.
In the evening, a Dutch shanty choir sings typical seafaring shanties.
Day 5 Kampen & Zutphen, Netherlands
Excursion to Giethoorn with boat trip*.
The water village of Giethoorn is situated in the middle of a nature
reserve.
Day 6 Zutphen & Arnhem, Netherlands
Excursion to Het Loo Palace*.
Het Loo is the former summer residence of the Dutch royal family.

Day 7 Arnhem & Amsterdam, Netherlands
Excursion to the Kröller-Müller Museum to see its Van Gogh collection*.
The museum has the second-largest collection of Van Gogh’s work
in the world.
Day 8 Amsterdam, Netherlands
9:00am disembarkation. Individual departure.
