Tulip Time Strabourg - Amsterdam itinerary
March - April 15
DAY 1 : Strasbourg Boarding in Strasbourg between 6.00 and 7.00pm. Time to settle comfortably in your cabins before meeting the crew during a welcome cocktail reception. Dinner on board before setting off on a guided river boat tour (optional) of the old city. Return to the ship before it departs towards the lock in Iffezheim.
DAY 2 : IFFEZHEIM – RUDESHEIM – COBLENZ Early morning start and breakfast on board, cruising along the Rhine past famous towns as Speyer, Worms, Nierstein, Maintz and Wiesbaden before stopping off for two hours in Rudesheim. The cruise then continues on towards Coblenz., passing the legendary Lorelei Rock, along the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine, where romantic castles nestle high up in the lush vineyards that run along along the river banks. We arrive in Coblenz around 8.00pm. Overnight stop.
DAY 3 : COBLENZ – COLOGNE – DUSSELDORF On our cruise between Coblenz and Dusseldorf, we will sail past Bonn before arriving in Cologne. Take advantage of a 2 hour stop to visit the town with your escort before we head off once again towards Dusseldorf for dinner and a gala evening.
DAY 4 : DUSSELDORF – AMSTERDAM Cruising along the Rhine up to Amsterdam, crossing the border in Emmerich then on to Utrecht, reaching Amsterdam late afternoon. Dinner on board before spending the evening on a canal cruise to see the city landmarks (optional). Overnight stop.
DAY 5 : AMSTERDAM After breakfast, spend the morning touring Amsterdam (optional) and its diamond merchants. The Dutch capital is indeed a truly delightful city with a rich and fascinating past, offering its visitors a striking contrast between traditional Dutch architecture and other more unusual landmarks such as the Red Light District. Return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon is devoted to an excursion to Keukenhof gardens (optional – open from 18 March to 16 May). Back for dinner on board before enjoying a free evening or ask to be dropped off in the centre of Amsterdam (optional) for a walk around the Red Light District. Overnight stop.
DAY 6 : AMSTERDAM Breakfast before disembarking. End of the cruise.
Strasbourg - Amsterdam
April 16 - September
DAY 1 : STRASBOURG
Boarding in Strasbourg between 6.00 and 7.00pm and time to settle comfortably in your cabins before meeting the crew during a welcome cocktail reception. Dinner on board before setting off on a guided river boat tour (optional, subject to availability) around the old parts of the city.
DAY 2 : STRASBOURG – RUDESHEIM
Breakfast on board while cruising up the Rhine towards the charming town of Rudesheim, passing great towns like Speyer with its famous cathedral, the massive port facilities in Ludwigshafen, and on via Mannheim and Worms (old Episcopal city), Mainz (Capital of Rhineland-Palatinate). Lunch on board before arriving in Rudesheim at 4.00pm. Disembark and enjoy some free time to discover the town for yourselves, or take an excursion (optional) to visit the musical instrument museum and have a ride on the miniature train. Dinner on board followed by a free evening in the lively Drosselgasse (with its open-air taverns and dance halls).
DAY 3 : RUDESHEIM – COLOGNE – DUSSELDORF
Sail off along the most beautiful stretch of the Romantic Rhine where the lush vineyards are dotted with romantic castles, and on past the legendary Lorelei Rock. Lunch on board before continuing on towards Cologne, passing Coblenz and Bonn. Take advantage of a 2 hour stop to visit the town with your escort. Return to the ship and cruise on in the direction of Dusseldorf. Dinner and gala evening on board. Overnight stop.
DAY 4 : DUSSELDORF – AMSTERDAM
Cross the border in Emmerich the sails on from Utrecht to reach Amsterdam in the evening. Dinner will be served on board before enjoying some free time in the city, or spending the evening on a canal cruise (optional) to see the city sights. Overnight stop.
DAY 5 : AMSTERDAM
After breakfast spend the morning visiting Amsterdam (optional) and its diamond merchants. The Dutch capital is indeed a truly delightful city with a rich and fascinating past, offering its visitors a striking contrast between traditional Dutch architecture and other more unusual landmarks such as the Red Light District. Return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon will be spent visiting Keukenhof gardens (optional)– which are only open to the public from 18th March to 16th May. Out of season, choose between an excursion to Volendam or Zaanse Schans (optional). Free evening or asked to be dropped off (optional) in the city centre to stroll round the Red Light District. Overnight stop.
DAY 6 : AMSTERDAM
Breakfast on board before disembarking (at 09.00am). End of the cruise.
