Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Basel, Switzerland (Embarkation)
Individual arrival in Basel. Embarkation on the RCII at 15.00 hours.
Day 2: Breisach, Germany - Strasbourg, France
Excursion to Colmar in the Alsace region.*
Walking through Colmar is like stepping back into the splendid and stunning Middle Ages. We depart for Strasbourg at 13.00 hours. Later, we take an evening stroll through the capital of the Alsace region.
Day 3: Strasbourg, France
Strasbourg - City tour with boat trip through "La Petit France" and visit to the cathedral.*
The picturesque old part of the city is on a river island called the "Grand Ile". The medieval half-timbered houses are a particular feature.
Day 4: Worms, Germany - Rüdesheim, Germany
Worms - Overland excursion to Heidelberg.*
For many, the town of Worms on the Rhine is inexplicably linked with the German legend of the Nibelungen.
Rüdesheim - Visit to Eberbach Monastery with wine tasting and concert.*
Eberbach monastery is a Roman Gothic building and was once the home of the Cistercian monks.
Day 5: Rüdesheim, Germany - Andernach, Germany
Vineyards, castles, little wine-producing vilages and the legendary Loreley glide past.
Andernach - Private reception and tour of Namedy Castle with coffee and cake.*
The Hohenzollern family have owned the castle since 1908.
Day 6: Cologne, Germany
City tour including visit to Cologne Cathedral.*
German's largest cathedral took 600 years to build and is one of the most important buildings of Christendom.
Day 7: Amsterdam, Netherlands
City tour by canal boat and visit to the Rijkmuseum.*
The beautiful gabled houses are characteristic of the city centre.
Day 8: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Disembarkation)
09.00 disembarkation. Individual departure.
