Day 1: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Embarkation)
Individual arrival in Amsterdam. Embarkation on the RCII at 16.00 hours.
Day 2: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Canal gardens: city tour of Amsterdam with canal boat trip. *
We visit the elegant canal gardens of Van Loon, Keizersgracht, Geelvinck Hinlopen Huis and Herengracht - formal Renaissance gardens in the 17th-century Dutch style. This will be followed by a stroll around the flower market and a visit to the Begijnhof, a formal monastery of garden. Lecture "Gardens of the World" by Antonius Bösterling.
Day 3: Düsseldorf, Germany
Fashionable gardens: Visit to Floriade 2012 in Venlo.* Historic gardens:Visit to the Benrath Palace grounds and the Museum of European Garden Art. *
Benrath Palace is a work of art composed of arhcitecture, gardens and water features.
Day 4: Rüdesheim , Germany
Experimental gardens: Afternoon visit to the testing facilities at Monrepos Castle in Geisenheim/Rheingau.*
Vineyard gardens: Evening visit to Vollrads Castle with a wine tasting and concert.*
Day 5: Rüdesheim, Germany - Gernsheim, Germany
Master florists present a colorful show of flower fashion.
Gernsheim - Romantic gardens: Visit to the Fürstenlager state park in Bensheim and the Hermannshof show gardens at Weinheim.* Re-embarkation in Mannheim following excursion.
Day 6: Strasbourg, France
Baroque gardens: City tour with boat trip through "La Petit France" and visit to the cathedral.*
Day 7: Breisach, Germany
Antonius Bosterling presents "Art in the garden."
Blue gardens: Visit to Countess von Zeppelin's perennial nurseries in the Markgräfler region with wine tasting.*
Day 8: Basel, Switzerland (Disembarkation)
