Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Embarkation)
Individual arrival in Amsterdam. Embarkation on the RCII at 16.00 hours.
Evening trip on a canal boat.*
Day 2: Arnhem, Netherlands
Excursion to the Kröller-Müller Museum with its famous Van Gogh collection.*
Some 300 works by Van Gogh form the heart of the collection.
Day 3: Bad Breisig, Germany
Visit to Princess Heide von Hohenzollern's home, Namedy Castle, including lunch.*
Namedy Castle is a moated castle dating from the 14th century. It was converted into a palace in 1890. We re-embark the RCII in Koblenz at 14:45 hours following excursion.
In the late afternoon, we pass through one of the most beautiful sections of the Rhine - the middle Rhine with the Loreley.
Day 4: A Day on the River
Picturesque riverbanks glide past and time drifts along.
Day 5: Würzburg, Germany
City tour with visit to the Residenz Palace.*
The Marienburg Fortress towers high above the Main, whilst on the other side of the river is the magnifcent archbishop's Residenz with its extensive parkland.
Day 6: Bamberg, Germany
Tour of the old town.*
"Franconia's Rome" was built on seven hills and is the site of the only papal grave north of the Alps. The old part of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 7: Nuremberg, Germany
City tour.*
Nuremberg Castle, one of the most important medieval imperial palaces, was hoe to the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire for more than 500 years.
Day 8: Regensburg, Germany
City tour including visit to the Palace of St. Emmeram.*
The old part of Regensburg, A UNESCO World Heritage Site, began as a Roman settlement. The Porta Praetoria is still preserved from that period.
Day 9: Regensburg, Germany (Disembarkation)
09.00 disembarkation. Individual departure.
