Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Budapest, Hungary (Embarkation)

Individual arrival in Budapest. Embarkation on the RCII at 15.00 hours. As we depart at 16.00 hours, we take a look back to see what may well be the finest panoramic view from the river.

Day 2: Novi Sad, Serbia

Tour of the old town of Novi Sad.*

At the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Novi Sad was given the sonorous sobriquet of the "Athens of the North".

Day 3: Donji Milanovac, Serbia

This small town is easy to explore on an independent trip ashore.

At midday, the RCII reaches the most spectacular gorge of the Danube - the Iron Gate, or Djerdap in Serbian, including the Kazan canyon. This is the narrowest part of the labyrinth of gorges.

Day 4: Belgrade, Serbia

City tour including a visit to the Royal Palace.*

The Serbian capital offers many insights into its varied history and has a wealth of museums, a lively cultural scene and a unique location at the confluence of the Save and the Danube.

Day 5: Mohács, Hungary

Overland excursion to Pécs including lunch.*

Pécs is one of the oldest cities in Hungary and was a setlement back in prehistoric times. Its university was founded in the 14th century and is the oldest university in the country. Re-embarkation in Kalocsa at 17.00 hours following excursion.

Day 6: Esztergom, Hungary

Visit to the basillica.*

The basillica is the town's historic symbol and the largest church in the country.

Day 7: Bratislava, Slovakia

City tour with concert in the old town.*

Narow streets, beautiful squares and baroque palaces offer ever-changing views of the city.

Day 8: Vienna, Austria

City tour with exclusive attic tour of st. Stephen's Cathedral.

St. Stephen's Cathedral, one of the most important buildings in the country, is the focal point of the charming city centre. Traditional coffee houses, museums, boutiques and lively squares are waiting to be discovered.

In the evening: option to attend various concerts.**

Day 9: Vienna, Austria (Disembarkation)
