Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Budapest, Hungary (Embarkation)
Individual arrival in Budapest. Embarkation on the RCII at 16:00 hours. As we leave, take a look back to see what may well be the finest panoramic view of the city from the river.
Day 2: Budapest, Hungary
City tour.*
The Fisherman's Bastion is like something out of a fairy tale and the Parliament building looks like a magical palace. In almost every street, there are ornate art nouveau facades and magnificent baroque buildings to admire. As we leave Budapest at 16:00 hours, the city looks like a work of art.
Day 3: Bratislava, Slovakia
City tour with concert in the old town*
The old baroque part of the city provides a magnificent backdrop for a refreshing lively ambience.
Day 4: Vienna, Austria
City tour with exclusive attic tour of the St. Stephen's Cathedral.*
Vienna is a modern and cosmopolitan, yet in some places it also has the charm of a small and quiet town. In the evening: option to attend various concerts.**
Day 5: Vienna, Austria
Visit to the morning training session of the Spanish Riding School, exclusive reception and tour of the Hofburg Palace.*
The early-morning exercise of the Lipizzaner stallions is more like a minuet on four hooves. In the evening: option to attend various concerts.**
Day 6: Dürnstein - Melk, Austria
Dürnstein - Walking tour of the town with wine tasting.*
Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned here in the dungeons until he was set free upon payment of a ransom.
We depart for Melk at 11:30 hours. The RCII glides through the Wachau region.
Melk - Visit to the baroque Melk Abbey.*
On top of a cliff stands a monument, dazzling in its baroque grandeur and illuminated in a yellow glow - the Benedictine Melk Abbey.
Day 7: Passau, Germany
Costumed theatrical tour of Passau including organ concert in the cathedral.*
Passau, which owes its richers to the medeival salt trade, has been restored to its former glory. Its cathedral houses the world's largest church organ.
Day 8: Vilshofen, Germany (Disembarkation)
09.00 hours disembarkation. Individual departure.
