Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Basel, Swizerland (Embarkation)
Individual arrival in Basel. Embarkation on the RCII at 16.00 hours.
Day 2: Strasbourg, France
City tour with boat trip through "La Petit France and visit to the famous cathedral. *
The former tanner's district of "La Petite France" is still crisscrossed by canals today and is dominated by decorative timbered houses.
Day 3: Mannheim, Germany - Rudesheim, Germany
Mannheim - Overland excursion to Heidelberg.*
Heidelberg Castle is perhaps the most picturesque set of ruins in Germany. Re-embarkation in Gernsheim at 12.30 hours following excursion.
Rudesheim - Visit to Eberbach Monastery with wine tasting and concert .*
Eberbach Monastery, which is now a state winery, has always searched for the truth in wine- and has found it.
Day 4: Rudesheim, Germany - Koblenz - Alken, Germany
In the morning , we travel through a UNESCO Site of Naturall and Cultural Heritage , the Middle Rhine, which features the Loreley.
Koblenz - Visit to Eltz Castle.*
Eltz Castle is an quintessential knight's castle. Re-embarkation at 17:15 hours in Alken following excursion.
Day 5: Cochem, Germany
City tour with a visit to the imperial castle . *
On a loop of the Moselle between Hunsrück and Taunus lies the romantic wine-growing town of Cochem with its imperial castle. In the afternoon, the steep banks of the Moselle with sloping vineyards in autumn colors glide by.
Day 6: Bernkastel, Germany
Excursion to Trier. *
Trier owes its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site to its many buildings dating from Roman times. The most famous of these is surely the Porta Nigra, the best-preserved Roman city gate in Germany.
Day 7: Alken, Germany
Discover this wine-producing town for yourself on an independent trip ashore.
Day 8: Koblenz, Germany (Disembarkation)
