Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Beijing (China)

Arrive in Beijing and be greeted and escorted to the Sofitel Wanda Hotel (or similar; hotel subject to change).

Day 2: Beijing (China)

Featured Excursions: Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, foot massage, and Peking Duck Welcome Dinner with wine

Visit the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and Temple of Heaven. After your tour, relax with a traditional foot massage. Later, indulge in a succulent Peking Duck Welcome feast. (BB, L, Welcome Dinner)

Day 3: Beijing (China)

Featured Excursions: The Great Wall, the Sacred Way, and Kung Fu show at the Red Theater

Journey to the Great Wall and the Sacred Way and then enjoy an exhilarating Kung Fu show. (BB, L, D)

Day 4: Beijing (China)

Featured Excursions: Summer Palace, Hutongs tour with home-hosted dinner, and row boat ride on Shichahai Lake

Visit the Summer Palace’s imperial gardens before taking a rickshaw tour of Beijing’s Hutongs. While here, you will experience a traditional Chinese dinner with a local family, and then relax on Shichahai Lake as you are rowed in a flat-bottomed boat while a musician serenades you. (BB, L, D)

Day 5: Beijing (China) - Xi'an (China)

Featured Excursions: Welcome ceremony and dumpling dinner in Xi’an

Fly to the ancient city of Xi’an, and be greeted by a special Royal Welcome Ceremony at the city gate. Later, enjoy a traditional dumpling dinner. Tonight you will stay at the Sofitel Xi’an Hotel on Renmin Square (or similar; hotel subject to change). (BB, L, D)

Day 6: Xi'an (China)

Featured Excursions: Terra Cotta Warriors and Tang Dynasty dinner and performance

Visit the life-sized Terra Cotta Warriors and in the evening, join us for a Tang Dynasty dinner and cultural performance. (BB, L, D)

Day 7: Xi'an (China) - Suzhou

Featured Excursions: Tongli tour and evening performance

Fly to Shanghai, then tour charming Tongli with its narrow streets, elegant homes, and enchanting teahouses. Then drive to Suzhou, where you’ll check into the Shangri-La Hotel (or similar; hotel subject to change). In the evening, enjoy an exciting performance of music and dance at a traditional Chinese garden. (BB, L, D)

Day 8: Suzhou - Shanghai (China)

Featured Excursions: Humble Administrator’s Garden tour and Embroidery Institute visit

Visit Suzhou’s famous Humble Administrator’s Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the Embroidery Institute before returning to bustling Shanghai. Transfer to Pudong Shangri-La Hotel (or similar; hotel subject to change) and enjoy a delicious buffet dinner. (BB, L, D)

Day 9: Shanghai (China)

Featured Excursions: Shanghai city tour and Shanghai Acrobats performance

Take in the many splendors of Shanghai, including Old Town, and the Bund. Enjoy a Dim Sum Lunch at a local restaurant, and an evening performance by the world-famous Shanghai Acrobats. (BB, L, D)

Day 10: Shanghai (China), fly to Yichang (Embarkation)

Featured Excursion: Oriental Pearl TV Tower

Tour the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the Shanghai Municipal History Museum before your flight to Yichang, where you’ll board your luxurious ship, Victoria Jenna. (BB, L, D)

Day 11: Cruising the Yangtze River, Three Gorges Dam

Featured Excursion: Three Gorges Dam

Visit the Three Gorges Dam, and then sail the dramatic shoals and verdant cliffs of Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges. (BB, L, Captain’s Welcome Reception, D)

Day 12: Cruising the Yangtze River, Lesser Gorges

Featured Excursion: Lesser Gorges

Board a riverboat for a voyage down the enchanting Lesser Gorges. After returning to the cruise ship, sail through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. (BB, L, D)

Day 13: Cruising the Yangtze River

Featured Excursion: Fengdu

Visit the “Ghost City” of Fengdu. (BB, L, Captain’s Farewell Dinner)

Day 14: Cruising the Yangtze River, Chongqing (Disembarkation), fly to Guilin

Featured Excursions: Chongqing city tour and Chongqing Zoo and giant panda viewing

Disembark in Chongqing, enjoy a city tour and visit the Chongqing Zoo’s giant pandas before flying to Guilin. Tonight you will stay at the Sheraton Hotel. (BB, L, D)

Day 15: Guilin, cruising the Li River

Featured Excursions: Yangshuo tour and Li River cruise

Enjoy a half-day cruise down the Li River, and then visit Yangshuo, a leading economic and cultural center since the Tang Dynasty. Enjoy dinner at the hotel. (BB, L, D)

Day 16: Guilin, fly to Hong Kong

Featured Excursions: Reed Flute Cave and Chinese tea farm

Marvel at the distinctly colored stalactites and stalagmites in the Reed Flute Cave, and then visit a Chinese tea farm before flying to Hong Kong. Tonight you will stay at the Sheraton Hotel. (BB, L)

Day 17: Hong Kong

Featured Excursion: Half-day Hong Kong city tour

See the best of the island—Victoria Peak, the Aberdeen Fishing Village, and Stanley Market on your guided city tour while in Hong Kong. (BB)

Note: Tour Manager will not go to Hong Kong; there will be a local guide.

Day 18: Hong Kong, transfer to the airport

Transfer to the airport for your return flight home. (CB/BB)
