Detailed Itinerary: Paris to Honfleur (PAR)

Day 1: Paris (Embarkation)

Boarding between 6.00 and 7.00 pm. Settling into your cabin.Welcome cocktail in the lounge and presentation of the crew.Dinner on board.Overnight stopover.

Day 2: Paris

Breakfast on board. This day will be entirely devoted to the tour of Paris, which will begin with an optional half day guided tour exploring the mythical places of the city, such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées. Lunch on board. Free afternoon in Paris. Dinner. Cruise through Paris “by night” (depending on the water level). Overnight stopover.

Day 3: Paris – Les Andelys or Vernon

Departure of the cruise early in the morning. Breakfast on board. Past the futuristic La Défense district which will impress you with its concrete and glass architecture. Lunch. Stop in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. Departure for the optional tour of the Chateau of Versailles (except Mondays, when the château is closed), which is among the most famous and prestigious monuments of world heritage and constitutes the most beautiful and most complete work of French art of the 18th century – on Mondays, optional tour of the chateau of Malmaison. Back on board in Mantes la Jolie, dinner and continuation of the cruise for Andelys or Vernon (depending on moorings available at the wharves). Overnight stopover.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE TOUR TO VERSAILLES:
Over the years, it has become increasingly difficult to book group entrances on a last minute notice.
Therefore, from March 2009 on, we will only offer this tour as a pre-booked tour (not available on board any more), and for a minimum of 35 persons.
If we can not offer Versailles (because of a lack of booking), a tour of “Malmaison castle” will be offered instead.
Please remember that Versailles is closed on Monday.
Please note that the “Malmaison castle” is closed on Tuesday, a tour of “Auvers-sur-Oise castle” will be offered instead.

Day 4: Les Andeleys (or Vernon) - Rouen

Departure of the cruise in the early morning depending on the tides. Breakfast on board. Morning's cruising through a landscape of broad limestone cliffs. Lunch during the cruise. Arrival in Rouen around 2.00 pm, the former capital of Normandy. During the afternoon, optional guided tour of the city on which you will discover, among other things, the Cathedral, the historic neighbourhoods, and the Place du Vieux Marché where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake. Back on board for dinner and the gala evening. Overnight stopover.

Day 5: Rouen – Caudebec

Departure of the cruise early in the morning Breakfast and journey through a magnificent landscape of steep cliffs, at the foot of which are a number of charming little villages typical of the region. Lunch during the cruise. Arrival in Caudebec around 2:00 pm. Departure for the Abbey Trail, an optional guided tour, continuation via Jumièges where one of the most beautiful abbeys in France is to be found, as is the church of Saint Peter, which is one of the most beautiful examples of 10th century Norman architecture. Back on board around 6pm. Dinner. Departure of the boat depending on the tides for Honfleur.

Day 6: Honfluer

Breakfast on board. Arrival in the port of Honfleur depending on the tides. The morning will be devoted to the optional guided tour of the town and its fishing port, its narrow picturesque streets and their old houses, the salt lofts, the church of Saint Catherine (15th - 16th century) which is the biggest church in France built of wood. Back to the boat for lunch. The afternoon will be devoted to the optional excursion to the Côte Fleurie, stopping in Trouville and Deauville. Tour of a distillery where the famous Calvados is made. Back on board in the evening.

Full day guided tour (lunch included) to the beaches of the Normandy landings (only as a pre-booked tour and a minimum of 30 participants). Departure by coach to reach Pointe du Hoc passing the towns of Omaha Beach, Coleville sur Mer and its American cemetery. We stop in Arromanches after lunch to watch the film The Price of Liberty”. Return to the ship in Honfleur.
Dinner. Overnight stopover.

Day 7: Honfleur (Disembarkation)

Breakfast on board. Disembarkation around 9.00 am. End of our journey.

Detailed Itinerary: Honfleur to Paris

Day: Honfleur (Embarkation)

Boarding between 6:00pm and 7:00pm in Honfleur. Settling into your cabin. Welcome cocktail in the lounge, accompanied by the Commander and his crew. Dinner. Free evening. Overnight stopover.

Day 2: Honfleur - Caudebec en Caux

Buffet breakfast on board. The morning will be devoted to optional guided tour of the town with its fishing port, its picturesque streets with old houses, the church of St. Catherine (fifteenth-sixteenth century), which is the largest church in France built in wood. Back on board for lunch. The afternoon will be devoted to the optional excursion to the Côte Fleurie. Crossing Trouville and Deauville. Visit a distillery that produces the famous Calvados. Back on board in the evening.

Optional day tour (lunch included): the landing beaches (pre-booking only - valid for at least 30 people). Departure from Honfleur bus in the direction of Pointe du HocThat the top of the cliffs was the scene of one of the landing of June 6, 1944. Then crossing Omaha Beach, Coleville sur Mer and the American cemetery. Lunch. In the afternoon continuation to Arromanches Famous battle site in particular for its artificial port installed to allow to land invasion troops and equipment. Stop at Arromanches 360 ° to view a circular room in the film: The Price of Freedom combines archival footage filmed novel in June 1944 by war correspondents, with current shots on the same site. Then back to Honfleur, passing Gold Beach, Juno Beach and Sword Beach. Arrival in Honfleur in the early evening.

Dinner. Departure of the cruise, depending on the tide.

Day 3: Caudebec en Caux - Rouen

Buffet breakfast on board and then optional guided tour. You will discover the Route Abbeys with the Church of Caudebec en Caux, Which dates from the fifteenth century and continued by Jumièges where the ruins of one of the most beautiful abbeys in France and the Church of St. Peter, who is one of the finest examples of Norman architecture the tenth century. Back on board for lunch and cruise departure to join Rouen. Passage through a landscape along the steep cliffs at the foot of which are charming little villages. Arrival around 4:00pm to Rouen. The end of the day will allow you to freely discover the city. Dinner. Overnight stopover.

Day 4: Rouen - Vernon

Buffet breakfast on board. Morning optional guided tour of the ancient capital of Normandy, where you will discover the cathedral, historic districts, the Old Market Square which was burned Joan of Arc. Back on board for lunch. Departure of the cruise towards Vernon. This afternoon cruise will take place in a wide landscape of limestone cliffs. Gala dinner. Overnight stop at Vernon.  

Day 5: Vernon - Paris

Departure of the cruise early. Buffet breakfast on board. Intermediate stop in Mantes-la-Jolie, which will be the starting point of the optional guided tour to Palace of Versailles (Pre-booking only. Closed on Mondays, replaced by the Château de Malmaison) that is among the most famous and prestigious World Heritage monuments and is the best and most complete achievement of the French art of the seventeenth century. Back on board around noon, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. Lunch cruise. Afternoon of browsing, in a landscape evolves gradually as you approach the Big City. Past the futuristic La Défense, which offers impressive architecture of concrete and glass. Dinner cruise. Arrival in the capital beautifully illuminated. Overnight stopover.

Day 6: Paris

Buffet breakfast on board. This day begins with a half-day optional guided tour in Paris for you to discover the mythical places of the city such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees. Lunch on board. Free afternoon in Paris. Dinner. Overnight stopover.

Day 7: Paris (Disembarkation)

Buffet breakfast on board. Landing around 9am. End of our services.
