Detailed Itinerary:
Day
1: Strasbourg (Embarkation)
Embarkation
in Strasbourg between 6:00-7:00 PM. Settling into the cabin followed
by the introduction of the crew during a welcome cocktail. Dinner on board. An optional sightseeing tour
is offered through the old quarters of Strasbourg by riverboat
(depending on the number of participants).
Return on board prior to departure of
the cruise heading north.
Day 2: Strasbourg - Rudesheim
Sailing to the charming village of Rudesheim. Breakfast on board. Sailing past numerous towns such as Speyer and its cathedral, the impressive port installations in Ludwigshafen and Mannheim, Worms (ancient bishopric), Mainz (capital of Rhineland-Palatinate). Lunch on board. Arrival in Rudesheim around 4:00pm. Disembarkation and free time or optional tour, departure in a local train stopping at a wine tasting cellar, followed by a visit to the museum of mechanical music. Dinner on board. Free evening in the famous Drosselgasse, the little street famous worldwide for joyful athmosphere and Rhineland bands. Back on board.
Day
3: Rudeshiem - Koblenz
Breakfast on board. Departure of the boat at 9:00am for Koblenz on the most beautiful section of the romantic Rhine. During this cruise, sail past Bacharach (a very old wine-making village), Kaub, Oberwesel, and the innumerable picturesque castles which line the Rhine, the Rock of the Lorelei as well as Boppard, a typical village with white houses and grey slate roofs. Lunch on board. Arrival in Koblenz around 1:00pm. Explore old Koblenz in the company of our hostess, dinner and free evening in Koblenz.
Day
4: Koblenz- Rudesheim
Breakfast on board. Cruise up the most beautiful section of the romantic Rhine between Koblenz and Rudesheim. Lunch on board. Arrival in Rudesheim around 5:00pm. Free time or optional excursion to the Monastery of Eberbach (depending on availability, reservation on board only). Dinner on board. Free evening in the famous Drosselgasse and back on board whenever you wish.
Day 5: Rudesheim - Speyer or Mannheim
Departure of the boat early in the morning to cruise up the Rhine to Speyer. Breakfast and lunch on board. We will pass the towns of Wiesbaden, Nierstein, Worms (chance to take the optional excursion to Heidelberg) and Mannheim. Arrival around 6:00pm. Gala evening. Departure towards Strasbourg and overnight sailing.
Day 6: Strasbourg (Disembarkation)
Breakfast on board. Arrival in Strasbourg around 9:00 am. End of our journey.
