DAY
1: PORTO
Douro
River Cruise
Our
purser will welcome you aboard our brand new ship beginning at 5:00
pm. After settling in your cabins our staff will introduce themselves
and you will get a chance to meet them and your fellow passengers
during our welcome cocktail, followed by your first dinner aboard,
Later on, our hostess will accompany you for the romantic visit of the
illuminated old town.
You will be transferred to the dock
where you will board the brand new riverboat “Vasco da Gama”.

The ship is in the very heart of Porto,
in front of the Port wine cellars, which are world-renowned. You will
meet the crew during a local welcome cocktail. Then you will enjoy the
welcome dinner.
Later you will have your first view of Porto
by night.
DAY
2:
Porto-Regua
Douro
River Cruise
This morning buffet breakfast will be served aboard followed by a
visit of Porto.
We will see the historic
city center including the town hall, Sao Bento Station, the Clerigos
and the Bolsa Palace.
We will return to the ship for lunch.
Douro
River Cruise
Our boat will depart Porto heading for Regua as
we cruise through the Douro valley. You will be
enchanted with the lovely countryside and the meandering of the river.
We will pass through the huge Carrapatello lock, which is
the highest Europe, at 35 meters (about 115 feet) high.
The locals often turn out on weekends to watch this amazing
spectacle.
We will arrive in Regua around 7:00 pm. Dinner aboard
followed by a folk group entertainment.
DAY
3: Regua-Pinhão-Bitetos
Buffet
breakfast will be served aboard.
After
breakfast, we will leave for the excursion to Solar
de Mateus in Villa
Real, a wonderful manor built in the 16th
century. This mansion has belonged to a noble Portuguese family and is
the model for the Mateus wine logo. We will visit the manor and its
“French gardens”.
We’ll
meet the ship in Pinhão
at about 1:00 PM for lunch.
This
afternoon we will sail among the famous Port wine vineyards, which are
planted “in stairs” up to 700 meters (about 2,300 feet) high.

This
is a peaceful and lush landscape you will never forget.
We
will enjoy a stop at a local bodega where you can see the operation up
close. Many of these farms produce grapes, olives, oranges and
mandarins. After you return on board we will continue to Bitetos, where we will arrive around 7:00 pm. Dinner and
farewell evening.
DAY
4: Bitetos-Porto
Buffet
breakfast aboard. Our boat will be heading for Porto.
We will spend the morning cruising in the enchanting Douro
valley. We suggest you take part to aperitif games in the living room
followed by the lunch.
After we
arrive in Porto it will be time to leave for a visit to one of the
most famous port wine cellars followed by a port wine tasting.
We’ll have
dinner on board while you enjoy the sounds of the most Portuguese of
all entertainment, fado.
DAY
5 :
Porto
Douro
River Cruise
You will be transferred
this morning to the Porto Airport where you will check in for your
flight home.
